SUMMARY

Pickle Browser is local-first. The pages you visit, the content of those pages,
your browsing history, bookmarks, notes, cookies, logins, and your AI
conversations are stored on your own computer. We do not receive them.

We do collect a small amount of anonymous product analytics, and only if you
leave that option enabled. Details are below, including exactly what is sent.

1. WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

The following are written only to your computer, in your user data folder, and
are never transmitted to us:

  - Browsing history, bookmarks, open tabs and saved sessions
  - Cookies, logins and site storage for the profiles you use
  - Page content, screenshots, extracted text and downloads
  - Notes, saved chats, skills and your agent persona (SOUL)
  - The action and audit log of what the agent did

Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete this data. You can remove it
by deleting the Pickle Browser folder in your user application data directory.

2. ANONYMOUS PRODUCT ANALYTICS (OPTIONAL)

If analytics are enabled, the app sends anonymous usage counters to PostHog
(posthog.com), which processes them on our behalf. You choose this during setup,
the choice is remembered, and you can change it later in Settings.

What is sent:
  - An anonymous install identifier (a random value, not tied to your name,
email, device name or IP-derived identity by us)
  - Application version and operating system platform
  - Counts and enums only: sessions, actions performed and their status,
features used, downloads, approximate token totals and estimated savings,
which model provider was selected, and which agent client connected
  - Crash reports: error type, message and stack trace, with values redacted

What is NEVER sent, by design:
  - URLs or domains you visit
  - Page content, text you extract, or screenshots
  - Your prompts, AI conversations, or notes
  - Keystrokes, form values, passwords, cookies or session tokens
  - Your name, email address or account identifiers

If analytics are disabled, the app does not transmit these events at all.

3. AI MODELS AND THIRD PARTIES

Pickle Browser is model-agnostic, and where your data goes depends entirely on
the model you choose:

  - Local models (for example via Ollama on your machine): page content and
    prompts stay on your computer.
  - Cloud or hosted models (for example Ollama Cloud, NVIDIA Build, OpenAI,
Anthropic, Google) and connected agents such as Claude via MCP: the page
content and instructions needed for your task are sent to that provider,
and their privacy policy and retention terms apply to that data. We do not
    receive or store it.

API keys you enter are stored locally on your device and are sent only to the
provider they belong to.

Web search performed by the app queries third-party search services, which will
see the search terms.

4. THE WEBSITE

If you submit your email address to download the app, we store it to send you
the download link and product updates, and we use PostHog analytics on the site
to understand page visits, referral sources and download conversion. You can ask
us to delete your email at any time using the contact address above.

5. CHILDREN

Pickle Browser is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them.

6. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

  - Turn analytics off at any time in Settings, or decline during setup.
  - Choose a local model so no page content leaves your machine.
  - Export your local diagnostics bundle from Settings to see what is recorded.
  - Delete all local data by removing the application data folder.
  - Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or
delete personal data we hold. Contact us and we will act on that request.

7. CHANGES

If we change what is collected, we will update this policy and its effective
date, and the updated policy ships with the corresponding app version.
